That's the ceiling for one cable. No external power. No hub. Just the card and the slot. Backward compatible with Gen 1, Gen 2, and older USB devices. Two things to know before you grab it: no DP Alt Mode, no USB-C Power Delivery on this model. Thunderbolt 3 devices work but top out at 10Gbps. Windows 8+ required — Windows 7 isn't supported
