The ATEN CS1308 kills that. One keyboard, one mouse, one VGA feed. Eight computers. You sit down, hit a hotkey or a front-panel button, and you're on the next machine. No software to install. No drivers to hunt down. Plug in, power up, done.

It handles both PS/2 and USB peripherals automatically, so that older server with the round connectors and your new desktop with USB ports both work from the same console. Video runs clean up to 2048 × 1536 with DDC2B, and ATEN's DynaSync tech stops the flicker and resolution jumps you'd otherwise get when switching between machines at different resolutions.

Need more than eight? Cascade a second CS1308 off it (USB cable set required) and you're controlling up to 64 machines from that one desk. Two-level password security keeps the four authorised users and an admin each on their own profile. Auto Scan lets you cycle through the machines you actually monitor without touching anything.

Sits in a standard 19-inch rack at 1U, or bolt it to your desk with the included foot pads. Hot-pluggable: add or pull a computer without powering down the switch.
