Your workstation needs to be three rooms away, but you can't drag a second PC and a monitor across the floor. The ATEN KVA-CE-604 solves that with two Cat 5e cables running up to 60 m. One cable carries your keyboard, mouse, DDC signal, and a DVI video feed. The second adds RS-232 serial, a microphone, and a second DVI output. One PC, two monitors, full audio – no dongles, no signal degradation you can see.
Stereo speakers and mic ride the same pair of cables, so your front-desk operator or lab tech hears and talks without a separate audio run. The RS-232 channel (up to 9600 bps) handles touchscreens, barcode scanners, or any serial terminal you already have on the bench.
Video tops out at 1920 × 1200 @ 60 Hz at 30 m and holds 1024 × 768 @ 60 Hz at the full 60 m. A manual compensation dial lets you fine-tune signal quality if your cable run is on the longer side. Built-in 8 KV / 15 KV ESD protection and 2 KV surge protection keep a lightning spike from frying your back-end PC.
Plugs into ATEN CS1642A, CS1644A, CS1762A, or CS1764A switches. DDC bypass and ATEN default EDID are both supported; configure via hotkeys. PC wakeup works from a pushbutton on the unit or a keyboard hotkey.
If your layout needs the operator station moved but the hardware stays put, this is the cleanest fix. Add to cart and we'll get it to you
