Your IR remote project needs a receiver that catches the signal from across the room, not just on your desk. This Jaycar 5mm infrared receiver does exactly that. It locks onto modulated pulses up to 12 metres out, runs at 37.9kHz centre frequency, and hands you a clean TTL-level output straight into your microcontroller or logic circuit. The amplifier, limiter, bandpass filter, and demodulator are all inside the package — no extra signal-processing stages to wire up. Horizontal beam is 42°, vertical is 37°, giving you a practical receiving cone without being overly directional. Solder it in, point it at the remote, and you're done
