Your DVI-A or DVI-I video card is fine. Your VGA monitor is fine. You just can't get them talking. This Jaycar adaptor bridges the gap — DVI-A plug on one end, VGA socket on the other. One important thing before you plug it in: if your card is a DVI-D output, this won't carry the digital signal even though the plug physically fits. Check your card's label first. If it says DVI-A or DVI-I, you're good to go
