You've got a project that needs to talk to the cloud, and you don't want another module glued on top. This board has the ESP8266 built in, so Wi-Fi is already there. The ATmega328P sits in the standard UNO layout you know, and a set of DIP switches lets you configure which processor handles the serial line. Connect it to your PC with a Micro-B USB lead (like the WC7723) to upload sketches. One thing to sort before you start: grab the CH340 driver, then upload code to both processors and flip the switches so they talk to each other. The full walkthrough is in the manual on the downloads tab. Add to cart and your IoT project loses one more headache
