You've got a workshop, a server closet, or a home automation setup where you can't see what's in the air. A dust sensor plugs that gap. This board mounts the SHARP GP2Y1014AU optical sensor – an infrared LED and photoelectric transistor pair that measures reflected light from airborne particles. That means it picks up fine particulate matter down to 0.8 micrometres, including cigarette smoke. The analogue voltage output scales linearly with dust density at 0.5 V per 0.1 mg/m³, so your Arduino or microcontroller gets a clean, proportional reading rather than a digital on/off. Clean air sits at a 0.9 V reference. Ultra-low power draw means you can run it off a battery for long monitoring sessions without worrying about drain. Small board, straightforward wiring, real data
