You've got the strap, you've got the shackle, and now you need a hook that actually holds when 2,000kg of stuck LandCruiser is trying to rip it off the tree. Not a cast alloy hook from a bargain bin. A real one.
The RSC328 is a 5/16-inch Clevis hook drop-forged from a solid billet of steel, machined to spec, then hot-dip galvanised. The spring-loaded Clevis pin is plated, and there's a nylon webbing lanyard on it so the pin doesn't bounce into the dirt when you're working one-handed in the rain. Lanyard's removable if you don't want it.
It accepts a 3/8" (9mm) shackle straight out of the box. Need to connect a swaged cable thimble instead? Pull the anchor pin with a split pin and you're set.
Small part. Big job. The last thing you want is a hook that's the weak link at 15:00 in a wash in the Pilbara.
