You want one tool that does broad washes and fine detail without swapping between a stick of pastel and a fine liner. This tin gives you both in your hand. The Derwent Pastel Pencil Tin 24 packs 24 assorted colours with a soft, wide strip that layers like chalk but holds a sharp line when you need it. Add a touch of water and the strip opens up into a painting effect — no separate medium required. The round barrel is milled from California incense cedar and stained a rich natural rosewood, so it rolls comfortably in your palm and grips without slipping. Draw, sketch, or build a mixed-media piece. One tin covers the whole session
