These ATEN SFP modules push 1.25 Gbps over multi-mode fibre to 550 m. Drop one into each end of your KVM extender or switch port, run the fibre, done. No protocol mismatches, no driver hunts. They're SFP MSA compliant, so they play nice with any standard SFP cage you already have.

Differential inputs and outputs mean less noise on the line, which matters when you've got a half-decade of patch panels between you and that rack.
